Monovision is one clinical technique used to correct gradual loss of the ability of the eye to change focus for close-up tasks that progresses with age. The intent of monovision is for the patient to use one eye for distance viewing and one eye for near viewing. A majority of patients get used to monovision immediately, but we always perform a contact lens trial to ensure that patient are satisfied with the expected treatment.
